The Blandings Castle chapter of The Wodehouse Society meets four or more times per year. Contact our chapter for more information. Some of the members go sluicing and browsing about once a month in various parts of the SF Bay Area; if you're interested, contact Pongo. We have a newsletter called the Argus Intelligencer (with which is incorporated the Wheat-Growers' Gazette). Annual dues are now collected on a calendar-year basis for all members; if we don't spend it all, we'll postpone the next collection until we run out of funds. Dues are US$15 -- make a cheque payable to our Treasurer, Helen Ratcliffe (she's Missy to her friends, but Helen to her bank!) and send it to her at
538 San Lorenzo Ave
Felton CA 95018-9280 USA
The next meeting will be at Doug and Margaret Stow's in Half Moon Bay. We'll catch up on what we've been doing since the Convention and share pictures and videos from it. We'll begin with our usual potluck lunch at 1 pm.
Members are encouraged to come out en masse for this meeting, and to carpool when possible (email us if you want to find out who might be able to share a ride).
To reach the Stows, most of us will use Highway 92 (via the San Mateo Bridge from the East Bay, or via 101 or 280 along the Peninsula). Cross over the coast range on 92 west until you get to Highway 1. Turn left (south) on Highway 1; in a short distance you'll arrive at a stop light at Kelly; turn right (west). The third stop sign on Kelly is at Potter; turn left, and go one block to Miramontes; turn right on Miramontes. 216 is the fourth house on the left.
Remember that the coast is often foggy and cool in summertime. Also, recall that Highway 1 from San Francisco is closed by slides, so traffic on 92 will be heavier than usual.
